Osiyo - Greetings to all tribal members of the Four Winds Tribe, Louisiana Cherokee Confederacy. Chief Jackie Womack sould like to thank everyone who participated in the July 10, 2010 Health Fair at the Tribe House and everyone attended had a great time and this event was sponsored by the CLIVR.
Also, back during the month of June, the culture classes was a great success at the tribe house and the event focused on teaching our children as well as adults, learning & making Dream Catchers, Corn Husk Dolls, The Lord's Prayer in the Cherokee sign language and Key Chains. WaDo
The Tribal Office is open on Wednesday's from 9am to 12pm, and tribal members & the public is welcome to come by during this time for Coffee and Donuts, or any questions.
We also want to update tribal members about the Tribe ID Cards. Our computer is not working at this time and we should have another computer soon. Please be patient at this time since all of the work we do is voluntary and we hope to start soon making Tribe ID Cards. You must be a member in good standing to request a Tribe ID Card.......
On September 4, 2010, we will be crowing the new Tribal Princess for 2010 to 2011 at the Beauregard Parish Sheriffs Training Center and this event will start at 6:00pm, and for those attending, please bring a covered dish or chips, or desert. Just a reminder, if you are interested in receiving an American Indian Prestige License Plate for your Car or Truck, they are available at the Louisiana DMV at: (225) 925-6364, or visit your local DMV. Just give them a call to request the plate and you may receive a credit for the old license plate fee on your current tags. You can view a sample of the American Indian License Plates on the DMV web site.......
11th Annual Pow Wow of the Four Winds Tribe, Louisiana Cherokee Confederacy will be held at the Beauregard Parish Fair Grounds on October 23 & 24, 2010, in DeRidder, Louisiana.
